The September 2019 Students of the Month for Wellsville-Middletown Jr/Sr High are Hallie Guzy (JH) and Max Slusser (HS). Ms. Osbourn nominated Hallie for “being a great student with an attitude to match. Her classroom behavior is impeccable. She has on occasion, helped with other students when they are struggling.” Hallie is the daughter of Dave and Melissa Guzy of Middletown. Hallie is currently a 7th grader. Her favorite pastime is going to the lake. Hallie favorite subject is Spanish and her favorite food is tacos. She is involved in cross country, basketball, and track. Hallie says the best part of being a tiger is being able to participate in sports. Her future plans include pursuing basketball. Max was nominated by Mrs. Rakers for “working hard everyday. He has transitioned into this year’s advanced classes with little to no problems. He continues to work hard daily and put extra time and effort into his assignments.” Max is the son of Brandy Wieberg of Wellsville. He is currently a junior. His favorite pastime is researching via the internet and video games. Max enjoys philosophy and science and his favorite food is crispitos. He attends Encircle Technology Compute Camps and enjoys his Applied Science class.. Max says the best part of being a tiger is the awesome community. The school has nice teachers and nice, respectful students. Max’s future plans include pursuing a degree in science and becoming a scientist (no sure which field) and enjoy what time we get in this universe because he dreads the end.
The criteria for student of the month are high attendance rate for the month, contributes to class, club, and/or athletic activities, showed marked improvement or continued excellence in performance, is prepared for class, class participation, demonstrates responsibility, and is respectful to peers and teachers.
