School Board held a special meeting at which the decision was made to operate the WMR1 school district on a 4-day per week schedule for the 2015-2016 school year.

Board Schedules Open Meeting

January 12, 2015

The Board has set a date to hold a special work session to review the school’s budget and make plans for the upcoming years. This meeting will be on Monday, January 26 (in two weeks) at 7:00pm in the HS teachers’ work room. Though the actual agenda has not been set yet, some of the topics that may be covered will include the current state of the school’s budget, the upcoming proposed levy increase on the April ballot, school hold-harmless funding eligibility and a 4-day school week. This is an open meeting and the public is invited.

Changes to WM Basketball Schedule

As of last week we have had many changes to our high school basketball schedules for the 2014-15 season.  As changes are made they are updated on and on our official Facebook page (Wellsville-Middletown R-1.) The schedules will be updated on their respective pages on our school’s website by the end of the week.  As always, if you have any questions or want a new schedule printed feel free to stop by the high school office or call (573)684-2017.  The most recent changes are listed.  Thank you for your understanding for these changes.


12/18 is now ½ JVG/JVB @ MC at 6:00
1/3 @ North Callaway, 4pm- JVB, VG, VB
1/15 @ Mark Twain, 6pm Varsity Girls followed by ½ of JVG
2/2 JVG/VG home vs Elsberry Cancelled
2/3 is now JVB/VG/VB vs Elsberry at 5:30 (maybe 5pm, will know later)
2/13 @ Bowling Green- JVB old Gym at 5:30, VG new Gym at 5:30, VB new Gym 7pm

2/16 JVG/VG vs Silex cancelled.
2/17 is now JVB/VG/VB vs Silex starting at 5:30.

2/19 JVG/JVB home vs WC Cancelled
2/20 is now JVB/VG/VB vs WC starting at 5:30 (still Senior Night)


Open Seat on Board of Education

November 18, 2014


There is an open seat on the WMR1 Board of Education. The process is to submit a letter of interest to the superintendent’s office by the end of the day on Tuesday, December 2, 2014.  The Board will review the applicants and expect to make a selection at the December Board meeting on December 11, 2014.

JH Basketball Tournament

November 10, 2014

Starting Monday November 17 the JH Boys and Girls Basketball teams will be playing in a tournament at Community R-6. More information can be found on the teams websites or click here

W-M gets ready for Red Ribbon Week

October 20, 2014

The last week in October (27-31) marks the 20th annual  National Red Ribbon Week.  Click here for the planned dress up days and events for that week.  There will be a canned food drive contest specifically for Buddy Packs.  Any student in PreK-12th grade can bring in a canned item (needs to be from this list) and the class that brings in the most will receive a pizza or donut party. 

The Nifty Fifties

October 10, 2014

The fall musical will be October 17-18, at 7:00 P.M in the H.S. gym. For $10 you may buy a Louise’s Luncheonette ticket, which is for the show and a 50’s-style burger, fries, and Coke served to you by a cast member.  We have a capacity of 100 dinner seats each night.  It’s a great idea to reserve your seat early. For $5 (adults) and $3 (students), you may sit in the bleachers. Come support the speech and drama program!!

PTO Family Fun Night

The Annual PTO Family Fun Night is Friday October 3rd starting at 6:00 p.m. Lots of games, food and auction items will be found!

Opaa Nutritional Information

In the links to the right, we have placed "My Opaa." This site will allow staff and students/parents to create log-ins to view any and all ingredients that Opaa uses for any meal they serve. This will also help any parents with students with allergies.

National FFA President Visits Local Chapter

September 11, 2014

The FFA members have been very busy already this year.  The National FFA President came to visit Wellsville-Middletown on 9/9.  He talked about taking hold of opportunities and not being afraid to fail, because in FFA, we have support to help us back up and do it again.  These members got to see him again on 9/10, at the Area V Leadership Conference held in Bowling Green.  FFA Fruit sales have started and will end on 9/30.  Please see an FFA member if you are interested!   Please find more information and updates on their webpage, or see their Facebook page.

JH Girls Basketball Serve Breakfast

Come out and support the JH Girls Basketball team by eating breakfast at the high school this Sunday from 7am-1pm.

Wellsville-Middletown R-I Open House will be held on Tuesday August 19th from 3:30-6:00. The annual meeting for Athletes and Parent/Guardians will be at 6:00 p.m. in the H.S. gym.

Registration starts August 4

Wellsville-Middletown R-I Junior and Senior High announces registration dates for the 2014-15 school year to be held Monday, August 4th, for seniors and juniors; Tuesday, August 5th for 7th-10th grade students. 

Wellsville-Middletown R-I Elementary School announces registration dates for the 2014-15 school year to be held Monday, August 4th  to Tuesday, August 5th. Elementary Registration will be held in the Wellsville-Middletown Elementary Gym. More information here
