P.E.O. Star Scholarship
The PEO STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide
scholarships to high school women attending an accredited post-secondary educational
institution in the US or Canada. Students must exhibit excellence in leadership,
extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for
future success. They must have a 3.0 GPA or above and be a citizen or legal
permanent resident o the United States. This scholarship is non-renewable
and may be used for such items as tuition, fees, books and/or room and board.
Application and essay are due November 19.
Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution
(MSSDAR) Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is available to any boy or girl
in the top 10% of the senior class. He or she must be a citizen of the United
States and a resident of Missouri. Students must also plan to attend an accredited
college or university in Missouri. Applications are due before January 8.
Irenen and Letta Wagy
Memorial Scholarship (MSSDAR)
This scholarship opportunity is available to a young woman pursing
a degree in education (teaching). She must be in the top 10% of the senior
class and a citizen of the United States and a resident of Missouri. She must
also plan to attend an accredited college or university in Missouri. Applications
are due before January 8.
Roberta Capps Scholarship (MSSDAR)
This scholarship opportunity is available to a young man or
woman pursing a degree in social studies/history education (teaching). Students
must be citizens of the United States and residents of Missouri. He or she
must also plan to attend an accredited college or university in Missouri.

Dorothy Poikert Memorial Scholarship
(MSSDAR)
This scholarship is award to a boy or girl pursuing a degree
in Business. The student must be in the top 10% of his/her graduating class,
a citizen of the United States, a resident of the state of Missouri and plan
s on attending an accredited college/university in Missouri. Applications
are due before January 8.
Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is available to students completing
their twelfth grade year (or final high school year) and planning careers
in government service. Applications and scholarship information is available
on-line at www.gwcf.org. Applications
MUST be RECEIVED before January 15.
Richard Kriz Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school. Particular emphasis will be given to students
entering an agriculture related field. Applications are available in senior
mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue. Applications are due January 21.
Letterman Family Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school. Particular emphasis will be given to students
entering an agriculture related field. Applications are available in senior
mailboxes, from Mr. Blaue or at the financial aid meeting. Applications are

Marilyn Goshorn Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school. Students should show positive educational progress
and scholastic ability, be involved in school and
community activities, and show positive attitude, character, citizenship and
competence. Applications are available in senior mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue.

Larry Schwendker Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school. Particular emphasis will be given to students
with great financial need. Applications are available in senior mailboxes
or from Mr. Blaue. Applications are due January 21.
Harold and Alice Hayes Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school. Students should show positive educational progress
and scholastic ability, be involved in school and
community activities, and show positive attitude, character, citizenship and
competence. Applications are available in senior mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue.
Applications are due January 21.
Sam Walton Community Scholarship
This scholarship is a non-renewable $1000 award for the student’s
first year of undergraduate study at an approved accredited college or university.
To qualify, the student must be a graduating high school senior and may not
be a Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. or SAM’S CLUB Associate, or the child or legal
dependent of a Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. or SAM’S CLUB Associate. The application
may be found at www.walmartfoundation.org. The access code
SWCS must be used to access this
application process. Information will available beginning in December. The deadline for entry
is a postmark of January 28.
John Dennis Scholarship
Scholarship applications are available to seniors who intend
to pursue a criminal justice career
and will be attending a Missouri college or university. Applicants must
be in good standing with their school, have a good reference from their school
counselor, demonstrate financial need, have a 2.0 GPA or greater, and be active
in extra-curricular activities. The applications are currently in senior mailboxes
or available from Mr. Blaue. Applications must be submitted by January 28.
LEAP Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is open to students wanting to
enter the accounting career field. The application deadline is January 28. Scholarship recipients will
be notified by mid-March. Applications are available on-line at www.leap-forward.com
or from Mr. Blaue.
Mizzou Alumni Association’s Alumni Scholars Program
This scholarship opportunity is available to students who will
enroll at the University of Missouri Columbia. Students must have a 26 or
higher on the ACT or rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class.
Students DO NOT have to be related to an MU graduate in order to qualify.

KFC Colonel’s Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is open to students with financial
need and entrepreneurial spirit. Students must have a 2.75 GPA and enroll
in a public college or university within their state of legal residence. Information
will available beginning in December. The application

Scholarship
Missouri United School Insurance Council is offering a scholarship
opportunity to graduating high school seniors who plan to further their formal
education after high school. Students must have an ACT or SAT score and have
a letter of recommendation from an administrator, counselor or teacher. Applications
must be return to the counselor’s office before February 8.
Leta Mae Hildebrand Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is open to seniors majoring in
agriculture, veterinary medicine or other related field. Applications are
due February 8.
Best Buy Scholarship
The Best Buy Scholarships reward students for all of their work;
inside and outside of the classroom. Information
will available beginning in December. Seniors
must apply on-line at www.bestbuy.com/scholarships by February
11.

Barbara Peery Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her

Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go!
College Scholarship
A $5000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior who values and
understands the limitless possibilities that education can offer. Applications
are available at www.ohtheplaces.org
and are due February 15.
Cargill Community Scholarship
This program awards $1000 scholarships to 350 high-school seniors
in the United States who live in communities where Cargill has a business
presence. Students are selected based on academic achievement and leadership
in extracurricular and civic activities. Each applicant must have a signature
from a Cargill employee on the application in order to be eligible for the
program. Our local Cargill business is located at 1006 Industrial Park Drive,
Montgomery City. Applications are available at www.cargill.com, keyword: scholarship or at
www.ffa.org. Applications are due February 15.
Edward Lampe Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school. Preference will be given to FFA members. Applications
are available in senior mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue. Applications are due
February 22.
Ed and Elsie Lair Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school. Seniors must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or
above to be eligible to apply. Applications are available in senior mailboxes
or from Mr. Blaue. Applications are due February 22.
Farmers’ & Laborers’ Mutual Insurance Scholarship
Farmers’ and Laborers’ are offering (2) $500.00 scholarships
to graduating seniors. Applications are available in senior mailboxes or from
Mr. Blaue. Applications must be returned to Mr. Blaue before February 22.
Martinsburg Farmers Elevator
Martinsburg Farmers Elevator, Martinsburg and Wellsville, is
offering a scholarship opportunity for graduating seniors. Preference will
be given to students majoring in an agriculture related field. Applications
are available in senior mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue. Applications must be
returned before February 25.
National Defense Transportation Association 2008 Scholastic
Awards
The purpose of the NDTA Scott/St. Louis Chapter scholarship
program is to promote careers in Business, Transportation Logistics, and Physical
Distribution. Although all students may apply, preference will be given to
students pursuing these and related courses of study. The NDTA intends to
award a minimum of four scholarships of $2000-2,500 each in 2008. Applications
are located in senior mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue. All applications must be
postmarked no later than February 25.
James L. and Nellie M. Westlake Scholarship
This award may cover college tuition, books and supplies. To
apply, students must be Missouri residents. They must also be graduating high
school seniors from a public or private high school in Missouri. Students’
families should have an adjusted gross income of $40,000 or less. Applications
are available at www.sms.scholarshipamerica.org/westlake. Applications
must be submitted by February 28.
Flying J Scholarship Program
The Flying J Inc. is very pleased to offer the Flying J Scholarship
Program to outstanding students residing in the communities surrounding our
Travel Plazas. Applicants to the Flying J Scholarship Program must be high
school seniors who reside in or attend school in communities where Flying
J Travel Plazas are located. They must also be planning to enroll in a full-time
undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college,
university, or vocational-technical school in the fall following the announcement
of awards. They must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
or the equivalent. Applications must be postmarked on later than March 1. Applications are available from

Montgomery County Kustoms and Classics
Car Club
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her

Griffin Family Foundation Scholarship Program
Scholarships are available for students attending vocational
and technical schools, colleges and universities with particular emphasis
on students interested in pursing advanced studies in nursing, health related
occupations medical occupations and education. Applications are available
in senior mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue. Applications are due March 1.
Project 21 2009-2010 Scholarship
The Project 21 Scholarship Contest was designed to let young
people educate other young people that it is not permissible in Missouri for
persons under the age of 21 to gamble in a casino. Students may apply in three
categories: article, poster or video. Winning essays must be displayed in
the school newspaper or magazine. Winning posters must be displayed for two
weeks in student areas (hallways, cafeterias). Winning videos must be viewed
at a student body meeting. All entries must be submitted by March 1.
Knights of Columbus Council 1270 Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any prospective graduate of Wellsville-Middletown
High School. He/She must have definite plans to further their education beyond
high school. The student must also be a professing Christian. The selection
committee will consider applicant’s scholastic achievement, financial need,
participation and leadership in school and community activities, citizenship,
moral character and educational goals. Applications are available in senior
mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue. Applications are due March
4.
Knights of Columbus State Scholarships
The Missouri Scholarships offered by the state organization.
They offer a total of 11 scholarships in the amount of $1000 each. More information
and applications can be found at this website.
National Farmers Farm Kids for College Scholarship
To be eligible for these scholarships students must be seniors
and major in an agricultural field at an accredited college or university.
Scholarship applications are available from Mr. Blaue. Applications must be
postmarked before March 7.
MFA Foundation Scholarship-Montgomery City
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school. Students should show positive educational progress
and scholastic ability, be involved in school and
community activities, and show positive attitude, character, citizenship and
competence. Applications are available in senior mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue.
Applications are due March 11.
Fern Braden-Audrain Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship
The Auxiliary Scholarship fund began with a bequest from Fern
Braden and is supported by funds from the AMC Auxiliary. The purpose is to
help area women or men obtain an education in a medical field. Applications
shall be submitted along with two letters of recommendation, a recent photograph
and official school transcripts. Applications are available in senior mailboxes
or from Mr. Blaue. Applications are due before March 11.
Mid-Missouri Association of Educational Office Professionals
This scholarship opportunity is open to seniors who intend on
continuing his/her education in an office-related business program. Applications
are available from Mr. Blaue and must be returned by March 11.
Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is available to students who plan
to attend a vocational/technical school and pursue a certificate or associates
degree in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair. Applications are available
from Mr. Blaue and due March 14.
Montgomery County Rotary Club Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any twelfth grade student wanting
to continue his/her education beyond their senior year. Applications are available

Robert Michael Pritchett Engineering Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any twelfth grade student wanting
to continue his or her education at a college or university in Missouri. Applications

Victor E. Kohl Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school. Students should show positive educational progress
and scholastic ability, be involved in school and

Hallie and Evelyn Penn Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond their senior year of high school. Applications are available

Masonic Lodge Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior with at least a 3.0 GPA
or above and planning to enroll as a full time student at an accredited college
or university located in the United States. Applications are available from
Mr. Blaue and are due March 28.
Ruth Lutes Bachmann Scholarship (Masonic Lodge Scholarship): This scholarship
is available for students wanting to become nurses or teachers. This scholarship
opportunity is available for students enrolling as a full time student at
an accredited college or university in the United States.
Masonic Merit Scholarship (Masonic Lodge Scholarship): This scholarship
opportunity is available for students enrolling as a full time student at
an accredited college or university in the United States.
Danny Beshears Memorial Scholarship

Car Club
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school at an automotive vocational/technical school.

U.S. Bank’s Internet Scholarship Program: U.S. Bank will
award up to 30 $1000 scholarships to high school seniors planning on attending
accredited two-or four-year colleges full time next fall. Scholarship award
recipients are selected through a random drawing process. Students can apply
online by visiting the U.S. Bank web site usbank.com/studentbanking.
The scholarship online applications will be accepted through March 31.
Future Business Leaders of America Scholarship
This scholarship is available to any senior who has taken at
least one business course and have been an active member of the local FBLA
chapter. Applications are available in senior mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue
or Ms. Dailey. Applications are due March
31.
Missouri Insurance Education Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is available to Missouri graduating
high school seniors who will be full-time students in an accredited Missouri
college or university and with an interest or intent of pursing an insurance,
risk management, or actuarial science course of study. Applications are available from Mr. Blaue and
must be returned by March 31.
American Bank of Missouri Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond their senior year of high school. Applications are available
mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue. Applications are due March 31.
Missouri Society of Professional Surveyors Robert V. Pirrie Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of this award is to encourage students going to
college to major in land surveying or a land surveying related field. Students
must show scholastic promise and potential for completion of college studies.
He/she must show enrollment in classes and/or participation in activities
related to the land surveying field. These might include mathematics, topography,
and drafting. Students must be enrolled in and accepted at an accredited,
college, junior college or university. In addition to the application form,
students must submit a transcript of their academic record at their institution
and one letter of recommendation. Applications are due March 31.
United Credit Union Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is being offered by the United
Credit Union in Mexico, Missouri. Seniors
applying for this scholarship must be a member of the credit union and
planning to attend a school for advanced education. Selection criteria will
be based on a 2.75 overall GPA or higher, good citizenship, leadership characteristics,
school and community activities. Applications are available on-line or from

Wellsville-Middletown Young Farm Wives Scholarship
Scholarships are available for seniors who have completed a
high school Family and Consumer Science class. Priority will be given to a
student who plans to attend a college, university, or trade school and continue
his/her education in a field related to family and consumer science. Applications
are available in senior mailboxes or from Mr. Blaue and Mrs. Whitehead. Applications
are due March 31.
Family Career and Community Leaders of America Scholarship
Scholarships are available to a senior boy or girl at Wellsville-Middletown
R-1 who is an active member in good standing in the local FCCLA chapter for
at least two consecutive years. Student eligibility is based upon academic
standing, leadership ability, citizenship and participation in FCCLA. Applications
are available from Mr. Blaue and Mrs. Whitehead. Applications are due March
31.
Gasconade-Montgomery County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship
This scholarship is available to a senior who plans to further
their education at an approved college for the coming fall term. Parents of
the student must have had membership in the Cattlemen’s County Association
in which they have residence or the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association for the
current and proceeding year. (OR) A student will be eligible if cattle have
been a part of their livelihood for the preceding two years. Applications

Missouri Baptist Heritage Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is available to high school seniors
or first-year students at Hannibal-LaGrange College or Southwest Baptist University.
Student must create research paper on the some facet of Missouri Baptist history.

Music Boosters Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is available to a senior who plans
to further their education after high school and has participated in the band
or vocal music program at Wellsville-Middletown High School. Applications are available from the music department
and are due April 4.
Don and Larue McMurty Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior athlete wanting to continue
his/her education beyond high school. Students should show positive educational
progress and scholastic ability, be involved in school
and community activities, and show positive attitude, character, citizenship
and competence. Applications are available in senior mailboxes, from Mr. Blaue.

GFWC Studere Club Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school. Students should show positive educational progress
and scholastic ability, be involved in school and
community activities, and show positive attitude, character, citizenship and

Sarah Gearhart Scholarship
Scholarships are available for students attending colleges and
universities with particular emphasis on students interested in pursing advanced

Ryan McCurdy Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school. Particular emphasis will be given to students
with financial need and participation in FFA. Applications are available in

Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship
This scholarship provides outstanding scholars with awards of
up to $1500 per year for their first four years of study at a four year institution
of high education. Applicants must score in the top ten percent of the national
percentile on the ACT test (30 or above). Application packets must be submitted by April 15.
The Urban Flight and Rural Needs Scholarship
This scholarship program provides scholarships to eligible students
who enter a teacher education program and make a commitment to teach as a
condition of receiving the scholarship. The scholarship will be applied toward
the cost of eligible students’ tuition and fees, up to for years, at a two-year
or four-year college or university located in Missouri. Students must be a
U.S. citizen, a resident of Missouri and a high school senior. Students must
submit an application postmarked by the April 15. See Mr. Blaue for an application.
Merell University of Beauty Arts and Science
This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her
education beyond high school in the area of hair designing. Students must
be of good moral character and have demonstrated good citizenship while in
high school. He or she must also be in the upper 50 percent of their high
school graduating class. Applications are available from Mr. Blaue and are
due April 15.
American Legion Scholarships
Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is available to any senior boy
who has attended the American Legion Boys State of Missouri or a full session
of the Department’s Cadet Patrol Academy. A second award is given to a girl
who has attended a full session of the American Legion Auxiliary’s Girls State
program or a full session of the Department’s Cadet Patrol Academy. Applications
are due April 15.
M.D. “Jack” Murphy Memorial Nurses Training
This award is available to a Missouri boy or girl training to
be a Registered Nurse, and may be used in their freshman or subsequent college
years. The student must have graduated in the top forty percent of their high
school class or have a “C” or equivalent standing from their last college
or university semester. Applications are due April
15.
Joseph J. Frank Scholarship
Applicants must have attended a full session of the American
Legion Boys or Girls State and be a descendant of a member of the American
Legion. Applications are due April
15.
Charles L. Bacon
To be eligible for this scholarship an individual must be a
current member of the American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, or the
Sons of the American Legion, or a descendant of a member of any thereof. Applications
are due April 15.
Erman W. Taylor Memorial
To be eligible for this scholarship an individual must be a
descendant of a veteran who served 90 or more days of active duty in the armed
forces and having an honorable discharge, be a Missouri resident, use the
award as full-time student at an accredited college or university, provide
a copy of the discharge certificate for the veteran on whose the application
is made, and submit an essay of 500 words or less on the subject, “In you opinion, what was the most significant world event of 2007/2008.”
